It is honestly hard to be sad when you have this little one around. I could have the most terrible day at school and just be sooooo exhausted, and as soon as I walk into his room at Goddard, the universe just seems to center itself and I remember why this is all worth it.
G continues to be a really easy baby both at home and in school. Our biggest challenge right now is sleep. Most nights, I feed George around 7 p.m. and lay him down awake, turn on his crib soother, and close the door and he's asleep within minutes. He doesn't get swaddled anymore and just uses the sleepy sack. Sound great, right?! The trick is that he will usually wake up around 1 a.m. and at 3 or 4 a.m. and I need to be up for the day at 5 a.m. Many nights, he'll also wake around 11 p.m., but not always. I'm pretty sure these constant wakings are because this is the only time he gets to nurse. He gets three bottles of formula (around 4 ozs each) while at school and then nurses the rest of the time. So far, this is working well, except I'm getting really tired!!! If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this little stinker to sleep (other than cereal...we're not starting that until 6 months), I'm up for a try. Otherwise, feel free to call me at any time of the night. Chances are, we're up! Ha ha!
Other than that, George is doing well. Despite the small amounts of bottles he's taking (Liam was taking up to 8 ozs at this age), he is a big guy, weighing in around 17 lbs. He went for his second set of shots last Saturday and did fine. We are doing an alternative vaccination schedule created by Dr. Sears (a well-known pediatrican that follows a lot of the beliefs that Taylor and I have). So basically, he had two vaccinations at his 2 month appointment and 2 this last appointment. At his 4 month appointment, he'll get two more. There's a whole rhyme and reason for all of this that I won't bore you with.
The other big thing (besides G) is that he is more-consistently rolling over from tummy to back. I got it on video today and will work on uploading it to the video site as soon as I can get my camera to agree to work with my Mac. It's pretty amazing to see him doing some of the things that he is already since Liam did not meet a lot of milestones until later.
Not much more to post (the kiddo is only 4 months old), so I'll leave you with some recent pics:
Giant Baby!!!
So unimpressed with himself:
Please don't sell me (Liam put that there and doesn't really know what it says):
You never know when you need a wrench in your sleep:
Hi, Daddy!!
